Teiko

Teiko

I sit here in tears knowing I have to tell you............Teiko has gone to heaven. His cancer grew and so did Teiko's heart. Teiko had turned into the most loving and happy German Shepard even in his pain. I have missed his greeting so much it hurts. After a hard day at work he would always greet me with rubbing up against me like a cat, talking to me like I have never heard him do, and grab my sleeve and take me to the front door. We thank you with all our hearts for bestowing upon us the honor to have Teiko in our lives.

I didn’t lose a pet I lost a family member & a friend. Utterly devoted to your tennis ball you redefined the word spas. A day doesn’t go by that I don’t miss your gentle soul. Cancer may have taken you away from us before we were ready but you blessed us with 6 wonderful years, we thank you, we love you and we will always miss you.

Coby

Coby

You earned your nickname name rightfully as Termite literally eating us out of house and home. Not a wall or windowsill was safe from your k9’s. The day we found you wondering the streets I truly believe we were the lucky ones to have found you. An orange pit bull fit to be an ambassador for the breed; though your mom always believed you were a pit bull/beagle. We will miss your wiggles and smiles.

Trixie

Trixie

When we saw Trixie on the GSROC website, we knew instantly that she was our dog. Meeting her the first time only reinforced what we already believed in our hearts...that she would fit perfectly with our family. And she did. Named for her affable and sweet nature, Trixie loved children, particularly our 2 1/2 year old, Joseph. She never let him out of her sight and would always get in the middle of Joseph and a third party whom she did not know, but never in a menacing manner. She truly did not have a mean bone in her body, yet she possessed a fierce loyalty common to Shepherds. Trixie also loved to fetch, so much I wondered sometimes if she believed she were a retriever. We will miss our beloved Trixie...our first family dog. Joseph too will miss his loyal companion Twixie. You'll be forever in our hearts sweet girl...

Shae

Shae

Shae (formerly Shy Boy) was the beloved companion of a special angel who embraced him for the loving boy that he was. Shae's early years were plagued with sadness, but once rescued, he was rewarded with the love, respect and kindness that he always deserved. Rest in peace, Shae. We know that you are rolling in green meadows with a grin on your face.

At 9 weeks old you were a true fighter. You were one of the lucky ones to see the outside of the shelter but unfortunately you caught a deadly virus in your stay. You were such a cute baby running around the yard, chasing me and falling asleep in my lap. I will miss you. You were loved! GSROC gave you a second chance and I was able to give you one night of true puppy happiness.

Joseph

Joseph

Dear Joseph, I only knew you for a few minutes; we met at the shelter where I was coming to rescue you. When I arrived, excite to meet you, I saw a beautiful blue gentleman who was very ill. The shelter staff said you probably had bone cancer and that is why you couldn't put your very swollen leg on the floor. I am so sorry that you had such a tough life - your coat and size told the story. I am so happy to have met you even for a short time and hold your head in my hands. Today you will always be remembered for all the dogs who no one loved. Your friend, Mary

Sea Biscuit

Sea Biscuit

We had such a short time together but filled them with pleasant memories for you. Trips to the beach, ice cream cones, plenty of hamburgers, sleeping in the atrium under the stars, car rides and munching an unlimited supply of oranges. I will always remember the joy you expressed by the smile on your face while lying in the sand and watching the waves. Wherever you are, please tell them, "NO SMALL DOGS OR CATS".
