Hope has a great disposition and a beautiful, soft coat. She has obviously been used for breeding as her body bears the signs. Hope arrived in poor condition with an upper respiratory infection and our volunteers have been working very hard to help her regain her strength and beauty. She is improving every day.03/03/10 update by foster mom:
Hope, A Success Story
Hope is surely younger than the earlier estimate of 5-years, given by a shelter worker, when Hope was first taken in, ill and neglected. She has the healthy teeth and pink belly of a young adult female.
Clearly a very resilient dog both physically and emotionally, she is a beloved guest in her
foster home where she is healthy and athletic. She trusts people and is beautifully mannered in the house. She has progressed in her leash behaviors so that she can now sit, lie down, and stay. She can even heel, with reminders. She is obedient and affectionate, and has a strong playful streak.
Would you like a loyal, obedient dog, who has also proven to be a good watchdog? Hope might
be your girl. She would do well with an active person or family. She is 75 pounds of muscle and good humor (a great combination!) and would love to be someone’s personal trainer!
Her coat is dense dark fur, sort of like she’s wearing mink! She appears to NOT be comfortable around children, but has made good friends with dog-savvy adults. In GSROC care, she has had friendships with a couple of smaller male dogs, and they love playing together.
We are asking a $300 adoption donation plus $25 donation for microchip fee.
To arrange to meet Hope, please complete the online application first and then an adoption counselor will be in touch with you.
